Nearly forgot...

Hello lovely people,

Apparently having a few days off work has led to me completely losing track of what day it is and very nearly forgetting to do this post for Crafty Little Fairies!  This wouldn't have been so bad except that I also forgot to take the photos of my card and spent a good yesterday evening while trying to get a photo that wasn't awful.  Special thanks to Dr Hubby for holding lamps whilst I played with camera settings.  UDATE: Photos retaken this morning; still not much light but better than last night!

Ok, onto our theme for this week and that is...
Autumn colours

Our sponsor this week is My Crafty Heart with a £10 voucher :-)

This was a tough one for me as I almost never use this colour palette but I did have a new (for me) LOTV stamp to play with and found a scrap of suitable DP hiding in my stash and this is what I came up with;

I hesitate to inflict another poor photo on you but here is the close up... *winces*

Let's get All Dressed up!

Hello lovely people,

I have some very exciting news to share... I have been asked to join the DT for the brand new All Dressed up challenge!  Ok, if you haven't come across All Dressed up yet then they are a new digital stamp company with artwork by the talented Wendy Burns and the images are just super cute!  I have used one of their images previously on this CAS card here.

If you need any more proof of how fab these images are then here is a card, made especially to celebrate my new DT position...

This is one of the sweet little party girls which come as a set of three; I have used just one of them but they are all gorgeous!  I couldn't resist adding a little glamour dust to the flower in her hair :-)

Here's a little angled shot to show the layers and the details;

Card recipe;
Image: Three little party girls from All Dressed up
DP: MME Lost & Found 3 - Oliver
Fancy edge: Marth Stewart edge punch
Flowers / pearls: from Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon: from stash
Button twine: from The Ribbon Girl
Sentiment: Kaisercraft mini stamp set

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30/20
Hair: E41/42/43/44
Dress/shoes: BG70/72/75/78
Ground: W00/0/1/2

I would like to play along in the following challenges;
1.  Bunny Zoe (something blue)
2.  Divas by Design (anything goes)
3.  ABC (very cute)
4.  As You Like It (favourite sentiment - this one is new for me and such a lovely sentiment)
5.  A Creative Romance (dies/punches)

Now you know all about these fab images, get yourself over to the All Dressed up Etsy store and see what falls into your basket!  You can also come and share in the All Dressed up love on the All Dressed up facebook page :-)

Going dotty

Hello lovely people,

I am here with my card for Totally Gorjuss and this week our theme is...
Dotty
So that explains the post title today... you could be forgiven for thinking I was talking about myself - lol!

Our sponsors this week (yes, that's TWO sponsors!) are The Ribbon Girl and Heather's Hobbie Haven - we are totally spoiling you :-)

My card is a super simple one, based on several I have seen in blogland using silhouette shapes with DP behind them.

I cut the butterfly shape with my Cricut and then stamped the sentiment below it... and promptly smudged it :-(  So, I had to re-stamp it on a scrap of card and layer it on top, which I now like the look of, so... happy accidents and all that!

(Hmm, not the best photos as the butterfly looks completely different colours in the 2 photos - oops!)

Card recipe;
DP: little scrap of something with no name on hiding in my stash!
Sentiment: Personal Impressions Big Sentiments stamp set

Sadly this will be my last card with Totally Gorjuss as I am stepping down from the DT to have more time to work on other things and practice my colouring!  I have had an amazing time with all the lovely Gorjussettes so thank you all :-D
If you have enjoyed popping in to see my work for Totally Gorjuss then you can always follow my blog and keep up with my creations ;-)

Thanks for visiting,

Bring on the bling

Hello lovely people,

I can't believe it has been 4 weeks since we set you the KISS challenge at In The Pink and I know it's one you all struggle with as we had some very loose interpretations of the theme - lol!
So, we thought we'd go for something a little bit easier this time and that is...
Bling it up!
I have to confess that my card isn't quite as blingy as it was in my head when I planned it but I do rather like it!

I also have to confess to buying new craft stash, namely this beautiful Tilda stamp.  I have been thinking of trying out a Magnolia for a while and this one fell into my shopping basket whilst buying a stamp for my Mum for her birthday ;-)

For my bling I have used a sprinkling of glamour dust (both on the card and myself!), several pearls and a couple of tiny little gems - can you spot them?!
I curved the sentiment and raised the centre on some foam pads... I think this turned out pretty effective so you might be seeing this again!

Card recipe;
Image: Magnolia - Tilda binding flowers (from Sir Stampalot)
DP: Maja Designs - Sofiero/Vintage Summer Basics
Flowers / pearls / pearl brad / seam binding: from Wild Orchid Crafts
Fancy frame: Spellbinders Nesties - Timeless Rectangles
Leaves: Memory Box die - Lavish Branch
Sentiment: Kaisercraft mini set

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 &R30/21
Hair: E50/51/53/31/43
Dress: RV000 & R81/83/85
Ribbon: R83/85
Flowers: BV0000/000/00/01/02/04/08
Leaves: YG61 & G21/94
Shoes: E53/55/57
Ground: T0/1/2/3/4

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Wild Orchid Crafts (add a die cut)
2.  Papertake Weekly (make it sparkle)
3.  Inky Chicks (Pretty in Pink)

We know you love the sparkly shiny stuff so no excuses for not entering our challenge :-)  If you need any more inspiration pop over to In The Pink and see what the rest of the DT have created... be prepared to be dazzled!

Before I go I would like to apologise for being a bad blogger as I have not been round to visit you all as much as I would like over the last couple of weeks.  It's been one of these 'life gets in the way' fortnights and I hope things are going to settle down a bit now.

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Stripy

Hello lovely people,

I have yet another busy weekend of fun as I am on a hen party at Center Parcs this weekend!  I'm sure we will all be very well behaved, no shenanigans whatsoever...ahem.

While I am away, it's time for a new challenge at Totally Gorjuss and our theme this week is...
Stripes

I have had the idea for a card with 3D candles on it in my head for some time and finally had chance to make it.  It came out pretty much how I wanted!  Can you see the stripes?!

The candles are just rolled up DP with a little bit of bakers twine stuck inside - very easy :-)  They are quite sturdy but I think it's going to need a little extra padding and postage to get to the recipient...my father-in-law...hope he likes it!

Card recipe;
DP: MME Lost & Found 3 - Oliver
Twine: Hemptique from Craft Obsessions
Sentiment: Kaisercraft

I hope you can join in our challenge and if you need any more inspiration please head over to Totally Gorjuss to see what my teamies have created :-)

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Baby baby

Hello lovely people,

Gosh, it's been a whole week since I last posted - bad Kat!  I have good reason though as many of you will know I was super busy organising the celebration of my parents' 60th birthdays.  We had a wonderful gathering of family at the weekend with lots of fun and games and, most importantly, lots and lots of cake :-D

All the Crafty Little Fairies have been bowled over by the support for our re-branding and by the fantastic number of entries last week so here's our theme for this week...
New Baby

We have the wonderful Live and Love Crafts as our sponsor this week with a £10 voucher up for grabs...the difficult bit will be deciding what to choose!

This theme came at just the right time for me as a work colleague has just had a little baby girl :-)  As you can see I reached straight for my LOTV Big sentiments...again!

I also got to play with my new Memory Box star dies - they are just gorgeous and cut perfectly even on the really skinny bow.  I used some rub-ons for the little letter tiles.

Card recipe;
DP: Maja Designs - Vintage Spring Basics
Stars: Memory Box Precious Stars
Scalloped square: Spellbinders Nestie
Button twine: from The Ribbon Girl

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Inky Chicks (stitching)
2.  Sweet Stampin' (spots and stripes)

I can't wait to see what you create for our New Baby theme at CLF this week; check out the inspiring creations from the rest of the fairies :-)

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,

Butterflies

Hello lovely people,

I hope as this posts that everything has gone to plan and I am enjoying a weekend with family celebrating my parents' 60th birthdays :-)

It is time for a new challenge at Totally Gorjuss and this week the theme is...
Anything goes
Oh so easy!  We are sponsored by Craft All Day who have a fantastic selection of craft goodies available in their store.

I thought it was only appropriate to share the easel card I made for my Mum's 60th birthday.  I did take a photo from the side but it was rubbish so I just have the one from the front.

This is the first outing for my new butterfly stamp and it is so beautiful!

I cut one of the butterflies out to put on the bottom...it just needed a little something else down there!

Card recipe;
DP: MME Lost & Found - Blush
Fancy edge: Martha Stewart edge punch

Thanks for visiting and I hope you can join in our challenge; go on, it's such an easy one!

Hugs,
Kat xx

A quick KISS

Hello lovely people,

This is a flying visit from me as I am currently trying to organise a weekend (this weekend!) of family celebrations for my parents who both turned 60 in the last month.  Thank goodness I have made lists for everything, and I do mean everything...the presents, the food, the jobs to do, and the itinerary is all planned out in great detail!

Our KISS challenge at In The Pink is still running for another two weeks so you have plenty of time to enter.  The big advantage of KISS is that it doesn't take long to whip up a card...for most people!   Even with my usual faffing and birthday planning I still had time to create a quick card :-)

I have just been introduced to the super gorgeous All Dressed Up digi images and started my collection with Abi Ballerina - isn't she the cutest little thing?!  Ballerina = pink and glittery, yes?  Oh yes :-D

Card recipe;
Twine: from The Ribbon Girl

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30
Hair: E41/42/43
Tutu / hairband etc.: RV0000/000/00/10/11/32

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  A Creative Romance (CAS)
2.  A Little Bit Crafty (CAS)
3.  Cute Card Thursday (pretty in pink)

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Crafty Little Fairies is here!

Hello lovely people,

No card from me today; just some exciting news :-)

Today is the first challenge with CRAFTY LITTLE FAIRIES - woohoo!

What do we have in store for you then?  Well, you will remember from the announcement last week that we have opened the challenge up to allow you to use an image (preferably a stamp but digis are fine) from any stamp company, so you are no longer restricted to just LOTV although we will always be pleased to see entries using the fabulous Lili images.  And as you will see from the DT designs, some habits are hard to break, lol!

Our first outing as Crafty Little Fairies is sponsored by CRAFTY RIBBONS with a £10 voucher...

AND... we have a bonus prize of a £10 voucher from THE RIBBON GIRL

...but you have to work a little bit harder for this one - the winner will be selected randomly from all the blogs who display our new logo;

We hope you like our new look and that you will join us for our brand new challenge; we can't wait to see what you create for your first ever CRAFTY LITTLE FAIRIES entry!

Thanks for visiting,

Big fairy hugs,
Kat xx
