Happy 10th Birthday LOTV!

Hello lovely people,

I took the opportunity of the extra crafting time over the Easter break to make a card to celebrate LOTV's 10th birthday and for a couple of challenges.  I decided on a shabby chic look so the edges of the DP have been distressed, inked and stitched.  I also stamped a little scroll detail in 2 corners.

I experimented with a few new things on this card, one of which was adding a little pull-out tag.  Its a great way to add an extra little message and makes the card more interactive :-)

I also added lots of pretty flowers and another first for me... some pins to add to the shabby chic look.

This is one of the older LOTV stamps in my collection but I like to go back and make sure the older ones get loved too!
Of course, the shabby chic feel wouldn't be complete without a little scattering of Frantage so that's in there too!

Card recipe;
DP: Vintage summer/autumn basics - Maja Designs
Flowers: all from Wild Orchid Crafts
Seam binding / twine: The Ribbon Girl
Large tag: cut by hand and letters are a Quick Kutz die alphabet

Copic colours;

I hope you are all having a lovely Easter weekend :-)  I have been up to my parents with Dr Hubby and my brother and his girlfriend were there too.  We had a lovely time including an Easter egg hunt - you are never too old for one of those!  Ooh, and I made some mocha cupcakes decorated with mini eggs...yum!

Hugs,

Tag!

Hello lovely people,

Another Thursday and another challenge from us at Crafty Little Fairies and our theme this time is...

ADD A TAG

I had a good old think about what to do for this and then the light bulb came on... my fave way to add sentiments is on little tags so that's what I've done.

I have gone for quite a masculine design and kept it super simple although I now think I should have stitched around the image panel.
I think this card would be lovely as a get well soon or thinking of you card but the sentiment makes it really versatile.

Card recipe;
DP: Hope - Authentique
Ribbon: twill tape - find similar at The Ribbon Girl
Button: from stash

Copic colours;
Fur: E40/41/42/43
Umbrella: B93/95/97/99 & G21/24/YG63/67 & E44/47
Water: B0000/BG70/B21/blender

Head over to Crafty Little Fairies to check out the lovely creations from my teamies.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Lace and pearls at Crafty Little Fairies

Hello lovely people,

OK, I think it's actually winter now folks and the heating is on a lot in my house but I am one of those people that always feels the cold.  I haven't quite got to the stage of wearing socks in bed yet but I'll keep you posted!

Anyway, enough of the weather and on to our new challenge at Crafty Little Fairies where we have the theme of...

LACE AND PEARLS

Our sponsor this week is Live and Love Crafts with a £10 voucher for our lucky winner and I know I could spend this in a flash - it's one of my favourite places to shop!

I really wanted to have another go at making a criss-cross card; you can see my first tiny little one here.  I was able to make a good sized one (140cm square) out of a single piece of card this time since I ordered some A3 Kraft card from Anna Marie Designs.  It is a lovely weight (270gsm) for making base cards from but works well for matting purposes too.

I cut several label shapes with my Cricut and layered them together to make a large tag to go inside - there is a blank panel to write a message on.

The image is quite small but I think it works well on this criss-cross design and the cute bear is perfect for so many occasions.

I really went to town with the embellishments on this one and made sure I added plenty of pretty pearls!  I even took the original flower centres out of the sweetheart blossoms and replaced them with pearls!

Card recipe;
Scallop square: Nestie die
Scallop edge: Martha Stewart edge punch
Flowers: from Wild Orchid Crafts
Pearls: from The Hobby House

Copic colours;
Teddy: E41/42/43
Flowers: RV0000/R81/83/85/R39 & E47
Grass/leaves: YG91/93

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Inky Chicks (pearls and swirls)
2.  Sweet Stampin' (tags)
3.  Totally Gorjuss (3 DPs)
4.  Divas by Design (make it pretty)

I hope you will visit the rest of the Fairies at Crafty Little Fairies as they have been hard at work creating some wonderfully pretty cards to inspire you.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx

No flowers!

Hello lovely people,

This might be a bit of a long post as I have lots to tell you, so are you sitting comfortably?  Then I'll begin...

First up, it's Liliday and this week our challenge theme at Lili's Little Fairies  is...
No Flowers

Our wonderful sponsor is Iva Nova Chest with a lovely goodie bag up for grabs :-D

My card is a fairly simple one and I have used hearts to embellish it instead of flowers, which I rather like...I may do this again!

I go back to this stamp time and again as it is such a lovely image and can be used for a number of occasions, hence the slightly non-specific tag!

Card recipe;
DP: Maja Design -Vintage Summer Basics
Scalloped edge: Martha Stewart edge punch
Hearts: cut with Cricut
Ribbon: from stash
Tag: Sentiment tags from LOTV
Pearls: from The Hobby House

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30
Hair: E44
Her dress/shoes: BG10/11/53
Her hat: E40/41/42
His shirt: BG53/57
His shorts/gloves: E41/42/43
His apron: W4/5/6
His hat: W0/1/3
His boots/tree/shear handles: E44/47
Tree leaves: BG93/96/99
Pot: BG 90/93/96

Now, onto the second part of my post and I have some news to share.  Time change and we Fairies are changing with them.  This will be the last ever challenge as Lili's Little Fairies.  No, please don't be too sad and read on...

We have had a blast as LLF but it is time for a new start so from next week (5th September) we are becoming Crafty Little Fairies and will have a brand new look :-)  Here's a little taster...

Something else new and we think very exciting - we are opening our challenge up for you to use images other than LOTV.  So, you can still use your Lili's and we would love to see them, but you can also use other images too.  How cool is that?  I and the other Fairies will continue to share our love of Lili with you but this does mean more of you will be able to join in the challenges with us.

So, we hope you are as excited about all this as we are and hope to see you next week for the first ever Crafty Little Fairies Challenge!  It's the turn of the Blue Fairies (yes, we get new team names too!) to share their lovely creations but some of the Pink Fairies are so excited that they may just play along too!

If this weeks theme seems tough then just head over to Lili's Little Fairies for some awesome inspiration, then put away those flowers and join in our challenge!

If you need any more incentive to join in, we also have TWO £10 vouchers from LOTV to give away to wish us luck in our new venture - woohoo!

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Giving it the beans...

Hello lovely people,

I see I have a few new followers so welcome along and I'm so happy you chose to follow me :-)

It looks like summer might finally be here...ok, probably shouldn't get too excited but I am certainly going to enjoy this weekend!  Dr Hubby and I started the weekend last night with a glass of Pimms whilst watching the tennis - lovely!

And you know what else Saturday means...a new challenge at Totally Gorjuss :-)  This week we have the theme of 'Anything Goes with Circles' so you have pretty much free reign as long as we can see some circles on your creation.

I decided to make this little circular tag;

I have used a TGF stamp that hasn't seen ink for a little while but she is just so cute and I thought she would look great with pink hair :-)

I am loving my new tiny tag sentiments from LOTV and they are perfect for tucking in under some flowers.

Oh and in case you are wondering about the post title, 'giving it the beans' is what Dr Hubby calls it when he puts his foot to the floor in our little sports car and the image is a Bean so there you have it!

Ok, I can't resist showing you one more little angled view...

Card recipe;
Image: Glimmer Bean by The Greeting Farm - available from Quixotic Paperie
DP: MME Lost & Found 2 - Blush
Doily: free with a craft order...might have to get the die for this ;-)
Seam binding / twine / flowers / pearls: from Wild Orchid Crafts

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30
Hair: RV000 & R81/83/85

1.  Wild Orchid Crafts (daisy daisy)
2.  Cupcake Craft (anything but square)
3.  Papertake Weekly (anything goes)
4.  Divas by Design (cute)
