Flower girl

Hello lovely people,

Woohoo, it's new release time at All Dressed Up and once again we have an amazing selection of images for you.  Just take a look at these cute wedding themed images...

Just Married

Mirror Mirror

My Little Flower Girl

To Have and to Hold

I know these are all going to be very popular with wedding season coming up but I think the little flower girl also works well for a more generic card, as you can see...

I have had a hard time finding the right Copics for colouring cream but this combo worked quite well and I love the deep red against it.  This feels like a really happy card to me :-)

Card recipe;
Image; My Little Flower Girl - All Dressed Up

Edge: Scallop dot edge punch - Martha Stewart

Spring flowers

Hello lovely people,

This is my second post today so if you are looking for my guest DT card for A Little Bit Crafty then please scroll down :-)

It certainly feels to me like Spring is well and truly here with all this lovely sunshine and everything growing away in my garden, so now I have to split my time between gardening and crafting.  What about the housework?  Hmm, best not go there!

Anyhoo,  we have a new challenge for you at All Dressed Up and our theme is...

SPRING

I bet you never would have guessed that with all my waffle about Spring at the start of this post ;-)
I've gone for pretty spring shades and flowers... oooh yes, those flowers are from my newly acquired (and quite enormous!) stash of WOC flowers.  I got all sorts of types, sizes and colours and am having lots of fun using them :-D

Of course, I will just have to share a closer look at this little cutie.  There is a touch of Stickles too but in very small dots so it's mostly invisible in the photos!

Card recipe;
Image: I love my puppy - All Dressed Up
DP: Vintage Spring Basics - Maja Designs
Fancy edge: Martha Stewart edge punch
Seam binding: Lilac - Wild Orchid Crafts
Flowers: all Wild Orchid Crafts
Memo pin: all my own work from some wire!
Sentiment: generated on computer

Under my umb-e-rella ella ella...

Hello lovely people,

Are you singing yet?  Sorry if that's stuck in your head now!  I'm back with my second card of the day as it's new release time at All Dressed Up and we have four fantastic images for you this month.  They can all be purchased from the shop.

A Little Me Time

A Time to Share

Looking Gorgeous

We Make a Good Team

As usual I had a hard time deciding which image to use but from my post title I'm sure you have guessed which one I've gone for :-)
I decided on a clean layered design for these little cuties - they just didn't need any embellishment other than a hint of lace and a few pearls.

I paper pieced the umbrella and added a little shading to it with Copics, then coloured the rest of the image with Copics.

Card recipe;
DP: Lost & Found Madison Avenue and Lost & Found 2 Blush - both MME
Sentiment: Clear mini stamp set - Kaisercraft

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/11/21
Hair (right hand girl): E35/37/47
Hair (left hand girl): E50/53/43
Blue dress and details: B91/93/95/97
Yellow dress and details: Y21/23 & YR23/24/30/31
Bag: E35/37
Umbrella: R000/RV11
Ground: T0/1/2/3/4

Do pop over to All Dressed Up to see what my teamies have created and check our our current challenge which has the theme 'Clean and Simple.' Any of these new images would be perfect for it, plus you are in with a chance of winning 3 images of your choice!
We would love it if you swung by our Facebook Group to share your creations and chat to fellow ADU lovers :-)

Crafty Little Fairies - anything goes

Hello lovely people,

Christmas is so very nearly here but there's still time for one last challenge at Crafty Little Fairies and all the pink and blue fairies are joining in this time with our theme of...

ANYTHING GOES

We are lucky enough to have TWO sponsors this week;

Now, I am very happy to report that I finished all my Christmas cards and they were all posted on Monday :-)  However, I have a habit of buying lots of Christmas stamps and not getting round to using them all, and this year was no different with a gorgeous James bear stamp from LOTV un-inked.  Well, that just wouldn't do so here he is...

It is a bit of a 'greatest hits' card for me with my fave Maja Design papers, my fave snowflake dies and some seam binding tied with twine but it all just works for me :-)
James is in his favourite blue scarf and hat and there is a touch of sparkle from some Stardust Stickles on the snow.

Card recipe;
DP: vintage frost basics - Maja Designs
Dies: small snowflake set from Impression Obsession

Copic colours;
Fur: E40/41/42/43
Hat  /scarf: B91/93/95/97 & T0/1 on furry bits
Mallet / signpost: E44/47/49
Sign: T8/9/10/100 (hat) & YR18/27 (nose) & T0/1/2
Ground: T0/1/2

This challenge will run for 2 weeks to give all of us Fairies a chance to rest our wings over Christmas and we will be back with a new challenge on 2nd January 2014!  There are so many gorgeous cards to inspire you over at Crafty Little Fairies and I hope you find some time over the festive period to join in :-)

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Challenges I am entering;
1.  Inky Chicks (Christmas)
2.  As You Like It (fave Christmas stamp - well, for now it is because I am so happy I finally got to use him!)
3.  Papertake Weekly (last Christmas)
4.  Top Tip Tuesday (snowflakes)
5.  ABC (blue, bows and bling)

The return of James Bear

Hello lovely people,

I hope you have been having a lovely weekend and not getting too spooked!  We went to a Halloween Party last night and the costumes were wonderful; even Otto the dog had a little skeleton outfit on!

This is Dr Hubby, and if you don't recognise the costume it is the eponymous 'superhero' from the film Kick-Ass!

I went for a more traditional Halloween costume...

Back to business though and it's on with the Christmas cards for me, using the fab new sketch from the Papertake Weekly Challenge for inspiration this time;

So, I am absolutely loving this James Bear stamp and thought he would look fab teamed with some frosty colours and snowflakes.  I have gone for several layers as usual and distressed them with a Tim Holtz distressing tool before inking them just a touch and stitching them.

I have coloured James pretty much the same as my last card using him but with a different colour hat and scarf!  I also gave the snow some Liquid Pearls treatment :-)

The snowflakes are a new die for me and wow, they are just gorgeous - so detailed and elegant :-)  I have to say that the Impression Obsession dies are always such good quality, cut beautifully and look fabulous.

Card recipe;
Image: James Bear in the snow - LOTV
DP: Vintage Spring Basics - Maja Designs
Lace - Venice Petit - Live and Love Crafts (but I can't see it in the shop anymore)
Dies: Small snowflake set - Impression Obsession (available from Dies to Die For)
Sentiment: Handwritten Christmas Sentiments - Pink Petticoat
Pearls: from The Hobby House

Copic colours;
Fur: E40/41/42/43
Scarf / hat: T0/3 & B91/93/95
'White' bit of hat: T0/1/2/blender
Ground: T0/1/3/blender

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Papertake Weekly (sketch)
2.  The Hobby House (pearls)
3.  Top Tip Tuesday (seasons - mine is winter of course!)
4.  Simon Says Stamp (anything goes)
5.  Totally Gorjuss (anything goes with snow)

Thanks for visiting and I wish you all a good week :-)

Hugs,

Hello lovely people,

I have some very exciting news to share... I have been asked to join the DT for the brand new All Dressed up challenge!  Ok, if you haven't come across All Dressed up yet then they are a new digital stamp company with artwork by the talented Wendy Burns and the images are just super cute!  I have used one of their images previously on this CAS card here.

If you need any more proof of how fab these images are then here is a card, made especially to celebrate my new DT position...

This is one of the sweet little party girls which come as a set of three; I have used just one of them but they are all gorgeous!  I couldn't resist adding a little glamour dust to the flower in her hair :-)

Here's a little angled shot to show the layers and the details;

Card recipe;
Image: Three little party girls from All Dressed up
DP: MME Lost & Found 3 - Oliver
Fancy edge: Marth Stewart edge punch
Flowers / pearls: from Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon: from stash
Button twine: from The Ribbon Girl
Sentiment: Kaisercraft mini stamp set

Copic colours;

3.  ABC (very cute)
4.  As You Like It (favourite sentiment - this one is new for me and such a lovely sentiment)

Bring on the bling

Hello lovely people,

I can't believe it has been 4 weeks since we set you the KISS challenge at In The Pink and I know it's one you all struggle with as we had some very loose interpretations of the theme - lol!
So, we thought we'd go for something a little bit easier this time and that is...
Bling it up!
I have to confess that my card isn't quite as blingy as it was in my head when I planned it but I do rather like it!

I also have to confess to buying new craft stash, namely this beautiful Tilda stamp.  I have been thinking of trying out a Magnolia for a while and this one fell into my shopping basket whilst buying a stamp for my Mum for her birthday ;-)

For my bling I have used a sprinkling of glamour dust (both on the card and myself!), several pearls and a couple of tiny little gems - can you spot them?!
I curved the sentiment and raised the centre on some foam pads... I think this turned out pretty effective so you might be seeing this again!

Card recipe;
Image: Magnolia - Tilda binding flowers (from Sir Stampalot)
DP: Maja Designs - Sofiero/Vintage Summer Basics
Flowers / pearls / pearl brad / seam binding: from Wild Orchid Crafts
Fancy frame: Spellbinders Nesties - Timeless Rectangles
Leaves: Memory Box die - Lavish Branch
Sentiment: Kaisercraft mini set

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 &R30/21
Hair: E50/51/53/31/43
Dress: RV000 & R81/83/85
Ribbon: R83/85
Flowers: BV0000/000/00/01/02/04/08
Leaves: YG61 & G21/94
Shoes: E53/55/57
Ground: T0/1/2/3/4

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Wild Orchid Crafts (add a die cut)
2.  Papertake Weekly (make it sparkle)
3.  Inky Chicks (Pretty in Pink)

We know you love the sparkly shiny stuff so no excuses for not entering our challenge :-)  If you need any more inspiration pop over to In The Pink and see what the rest of the DT have created... be prepared to be dazzled!

Before I go I would like to apologise for being a bad blogger as I have not been round to visit you all as much as I would like over the last couple of weeks.  It's been one of these 'life gets in the way' fortnights and I hope things are going to settle down a bit now.

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,
Kat xx

It's Christmas...in July!

Hello lovely people,

Oh yes, it's beautiful sunny weather and I've made a Christmas card!  The reason for this is that it is time for a new challenge over at Lili's Little Fairies and this week we have the theme
Christmas in July!
Our sponsor for this week is Delicious Doodles who have a wide range of fab images available :-)

Now, I don't normally pull out the Christmas stuff until at least October...probably November...maybe December if I am being really disorganised.  Which Dr Hubby will tell you is pretty much all of the time!
So, this has to be the earliest I have ever made a Christmas card but it was kinda fun!

LOTV have an amazing range of Christmas stamps but this one is my absolute favourite and the first one I turn to every year.  I went for sepia toned colouring to complement the DP and since it is a Christmas card I just had to throw on some glamour dust :-)

I got to use one of my new dies for the pretty edging; it has a line of stitch holes just above the lacy edge but since I already had some real stitching I covered it up!

Card recipe;
DP: Maja Designs - It's Christmas Time
Fancy edge: Marianne Designs stitch border die
Seam binding: Wild Orchid Crafts
Button / twine: from stash
Sentiment: Handwritten {Christmas} Sentiments from Pink Petticoat
Pearls: from The Hobby House

Copic colours;
All in various combinations of E40/41/42/43/44

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

1.  Papertake Weekly (buttons and bows)
2.  Crafts and Me (anything goes)

So, that's it from me but if you pop over to Lili's Little Fairies you can see lots of beautiful Christmas cards from the rest of the Fairies :-)

I'm off to put those Christmas supplies away again...

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,
Kat xx

What's new?

Hello lovely people,

The last few days have been very exciting as I have had several parcels of craft goodies delivered!  I often end up ordering lots of stuff all at once and then the fun starts!  I was also lucky enough to win some fabulous candy from Jen of The Tiny Blue Butterfly; if you haven't seen her beautiful CAS cards then I suggest a visit to her blog...after you finish reading my post of course :-P

So, some of the things I have treated myself to include;
- the final set of Copic sketch markers so I now have them all :-)
- some fab dies
- some frantage (eventually took the plunge!)
- an enormous load of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts - well they were on sale so it would have been rude not to ;-)
- a huge pile of Maja Design papers as they are my favourites

Ok, after all that waffle I do have a card to share with you using just a few of my new items;

I had a go with the Frantage and got it all over my craft room floor and myself but had a lot of fun doing it!  I think  need a little more practice to get a slightly lighter scattering but I'm pretty happy with my first attempt and it is soooo pretty!
Talking of pretty, here is a close up of little Ava;

I have used lots of layers as usual but without matting them onto Kraft card or inking the edges for a change and really like the subtle effect.  You can see some of my new flowers on the corner of the card and one has had a little Frantage treatment as well :-)

Card recipe;
DP: Maja Designs - Sofiero (limited edition) - available from Live and Love Crafts
Seam binding / flowers / pearls; from Wild Orchid Crafts
Twine: from my candy win
Frantage: Shabby White from Live and Love Crafts
Sentiment: from LOTV
Leaves: Memory Box Lavish Branch die
Butterflies: Impression Obsession die

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30
Hair: E51/53/55
Eyes: B91/93
Pink bits: RV11/32/34
Green bits: G40 & YG61/63
Shoes: E42/43/44
Pale grey bits: N0/1/2

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

1.  Saturated Canary (Celebrate)
2.  A Creative Romance (ribbon or twine - both in my case!)
3.  Sweet Stampin' (butterflies and bows)
4.  The Ribbon Girl (add a bow)
5.  ABC (quite a few layers)

Thanks for visiting and for sticking with my super long post today.  I hope to be back soon to share some more new stuff with you all :-)

Hugs,
Kat xx
