Sketch time

Hello lovely people,

This is scheduled to post on the last day of my skiing holiday so I hope I have had a wonderful and most importantly, injury free, holiday!

It's time for a new challenge at All Dressed Up and this time we have this fabulous sketch for you to work with;

I have used the adorable I Love My Puppy image and just played around slightly with the sketch to add in a fishtail (of course!) and turn the bottom panel into some twine with the tag sentiment.

I think this is a really happy image and this inspired me to use some lovely bright colours.  I also had a go at adding some tufts of grass into my usual dotty ground and I am so happy with the end result :-)

Card recipe;
Image: I Love My Puppy
DP: My Girl - American Crafts
Sentiment: Sentiment tags - LOTV
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Twine: Ivory button twine - The Ribbon Girl

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/21/11
Hair: E53/35/37/47
Dress: Y32/35/38
Hairband: BG45/07/49
Leggings: W00/0/1
Flowers: BG0000/000 & R81/83/85
Grass: G43/YG63/G46
Dog: E53/35/37

The challenge will run until 2nd March and if you pop over to the All Dressed Up blog you can check out some gorgeous creations from my teamies.  Don't forget that you must use an All Dressed Up image or paper to qualify for the challenge!

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,

How long until Christmas?!

Hello lovely people,

Christmas is doing the usual thing of sneaking up on me and I know this because people keep telling me how many days until Christmas or how many Saturdays until Christmas etc.  I am not a fan of this!
But it has made me evaluate how many Christmas cards I have made so far and that is a grand total of two!
So, time to step it up and here is number 3...

I used one of my all time favourite sketches from Papertake Weekly, which I love because it is so versatile and always results in a beautiful card.

I added a little stamp detail to the DP but decided not to add any embellies other than a couple of pearls as I really liked the clean design.

Card recipe;
Image: Christmas Angel - Saturated Canary
DP: Kaisercraft - On this day
Lace: from Live and Love Crafts
Stamped detail: Butterfly Flourish Swirls - Chocolate Baroque (and a random tiny snowflake stamp)
Sentiment: Handwritten Christmas Sentiments - Pink Petticoat

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30
Hair: E41/42/43
Eyes: E44/47
Dress / baubles: BV0000/000/00 & BG90/93
Tights / wings: N0/1/2

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Saturated Canary (season's greetings)
2.  As You Like It (fave sketch)
3.  Simon Says Stamp (christmas/happy holidays)

I hope you all had a good start to the week and thanks so much for visiting me,

Hugs,

A good book

Hello lovely people,

It's Thursday again and time for your pink fix!  This week at In The Pink we have a fab sketch designed by our very own Rizzo...

I love a good sketch as it can take a lot of the effort out of deciding what to do and let me tell you, this is a *really* good sketch to work with :-)

As I was uploading the photos I noticed a couple of black specks on the card, which are not there IRL - just some detritus off my craft desk I think!  Anyway, I wasn't going to re-do the photos so maybe if I just ignore them they might go away...

This is the first outing for this Saturated Canary image that was kicking around in my digi collection waiting for just the right moment!  The hair was actually quite tricky to do but I'm fairly happy with it in the end.

The flowers were all white to start with and I coloured two of them with Copics to match the image/DP and curled the little wiry bits round a cocktail stick.

Card recipe;
Image: Princess Reading Beauty - Saturated Canary
DP: Maja Designs - Vintage Summer Basics
Scalloped circle: cut with Cricut
Sentiment: Kaisercraft mini stamp
Flowers: Sweetheart Blossoms - Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon: from stash

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00/51 & R30
Hair/eyes: E25/57/59
Nightie: V91/93/95
Flowers in hair: RV91/93
Books W0/1/2/3 & YR21/31/Y32
Shoes: W00/0/1

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Bunny Zoe (ribbon)
2.  Wild Orchid Crafts (pretty pastels)
3.  A Creative Romance (pink)

If you pop over to In The Pink you can see if you can spot the difference between my card and all the other...let's just say the other Pink Ladies all love that die...!

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,

Gardener Gayle

Hello lovely people,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and had some sunshine to enjoy.  I had a lovely relaxing time with some gardening, a long walk and a bit of crafting - so lovely :-)

Despite that I still didn't quite have enough time to finish off this card so I am running a little later with it than intended - oops!  I have used this fab Papertake Weekly Challenge sketch;

I rotated the sketch by 90 degrees and here is what I came up with;

I have wanted this Saturated Canary stamp from the moment I saw it; I just love it!  Isn't she just gorgeous?  She is not available as a digital image but is one of the 'rubber only' stamps and she stamps out beautifully.

Gloves: R81/83/85

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Papertake Weekly (sketch)
2.  As You Like It (fave 3 embellies - pearls, lace and flowers because they make any card look so pretty and I love pretty and girly cards!)
3.  Inky Chicks (anything goes)

Thanks for visiting and I'm off to make some strawberry cupcakes :-)

Sorry folks, it's another fairy!

Hello lovely people...

...and big hugs and thank you to the people who have chosen to follow me here on my new blog - so lovely to have you along :-)

I have had a busy weekend starting with a lovely catch up with some family on Saturday and having fun playing with my niece and nephew.  Then I had a day of housework and crafting on Sunday.  Oh, and Dr Hubby helped me put together 2 drawer units ready for my craft room reorganisation.  I got all the bits and pieces that I wanted from Ikea on Wednesday but probably won't have time to put it all in place until the bank holiday weekend.  Something to look forward to :-)

After all that waffle I do have an actual card to show you using this Deconstructed Sketch for inspiration;
I only fiddled with the sketch a weeny bit and here it is;
I used the 'out of the box' technique to cut the image out with a circle nestie whilst leaving the wings hanging off the top and layered it onto a scallop circle cut with my Cricut.  The seam binding ruffle was created with the help of lots of tiny bits of double sided tape!
I have had this stamp for a while but somehow never got round to using it until now.  I have coloured the image with Copics, twice in fact because I got ink on the background the first time round  :-(
Card recipe;
Image: Kraftin' Kimmie - Fairy Lilybelle
DP: Maja Designs Vintage Spring Basics (yes, again but they are so pretty!)
Seam binding: from Crafty Ribbons
Lace: from The Ribbon Girl (Rebecca lace)
Sentiment: Personal Impressions Big Sentiments
Pearls: Kaisercraft

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  In the Pink (ribbons and ruffles)
2.  ABC (lovely lace)
3.  By the Cute and Girly (vintage)
4.  Simon Says Stamp (anything goes)
5.  The Deconstructed Sketch (#99)

Thanks for visiting,
Hugs,
Kat xx
