Flower fairy

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this month is...

FLOWER GARDEN

 So we want to see all those beautiful floral creations...in PINK of course!

Apologies for the wonkiest photo ever, it was just one of those days!  I have crammed in the flowers though, on the image, the DP and some lovely 3D flowers too :-)
I have had some hessian ribbon for a little while now and decided it was time to use it, and I do love it teamed with the seam binding and twine - both rustic and pretty.

I have just started the skin and hair colouring class at Kit and Clowder and whilst I have a long way to go I feel I have made some improvements already...like the hair on this little lady...what do you reckon?
This is just one of the many gorgeous new fairy stamps at LOTV; I could so have bought them all but had to resist!

Card recipe;
Image: Petal - LOTV
DP: Yours truly - Pebbles
Hessian / twine: The Ribbon Girl
Seam binding (pink tulip) / flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts

Copic colours;
Skin: E000/00/21/11/04 & R20
Hair: E21/25/29
Dress: RV32/81/83/85

Shoes: T0/2/4
Flower: E40/RV000/00/32 and R32/81/83
Leaf: G16/19/28

If you haven't already done so then do pop over to In The Pink and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Pink Ladies.
Please also go and leave some love for our very special Pink Lady Christine C who is very sadly leaving the Pink Palace this week; you will be much missed Christine.
However, we do have a new Pink Lady as well so please go and give a warm welcome to Stacey, and check out her gorgeous first creation :-)

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Challenges I am entering;
1.  The Ribbon Girl (lovely Lili - girlie)
2.  A Gem of a Challenge (use gingham ribbon/DP)

Cheeky monkey

Hello lovely people,

Woohoo, it's new release time at All Dressed Up and we have a fabulous selection of images for you.  Just take a look...

3 Little Summer Girls

Best Teacher Ever

Cheeky Monkey

Prom Princess

I've got a bit of a stationary theme going on with my card; I started with the paperclip... and then the brad seemed like the perfect way to add the tags... and then I wanted to attach the twine without wrapping it round the panel so out came the stapler!

I chose to use Cheeky Monkey to continue with my challenge to myself to make more masculine cards... and because he is super cute!

Card recipe;
Image: Cheeky Monkey - All Dressed Up
DP: By the sea - Maja Design
Tags: set 24 - Sentiment tags - LOTV
Twine: from The Ribbon Girl
Brad: from stash

Copic colours;
Body: E41/42/43 & E43/44/47 for tummy/nose
Inside ears: R000/00/01
Skateboard / hat: W3/R27/46/89 & B34/37 & W5/7/9 for wheels
Ground: W0/1/2/3/4

Do drop in at All Dressed Up to see what the rest of the Dressy Girls have created; they are all stunning! While you're there, check our our current 'Bling it up' challenge and we'd love to see you join in for a chance of winning 3 images of your choice!
Don't forget to swing by our Facebook Group to share your creations and chat to fellow All Dressed Up lovers :-)

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Scrap n' Art with All Dressed Up

Hello lovely people,

Thank you for stopping by and I have a very special project to share today as one of my cards has been published in the latest issue of the Scrap n' Art online magazine.

Scrap n' Art is an electronic magazine packed with articles, tutorials and inspiration all the paper crafter and has a reader base of over 20,000.

Wendy Burns and three brand new, exclusive All Dressed Up images are being featured in the current issue plus several of the design team have submitted projects.

The three exclusive digis are:
Love My Teddy

Princess for a Day

Too Good to Eat

These three digital images are currently available only by subscribing to Scrap n' Art.  Your subscription entitles you to a monthly magazine for $24/year or you can try it for $5 for one month and you can access tutorials, inspiration, editorials and downloads.

For my card, I used another cute image currently available in the All Dressed Up Etsy store called Little Flower Girl.  I went for a taste of summer with this design, choosing bright colours and florals.

I just LOVE this little lady's gorgeous huge sun hat although it was a little bit of a challenge to colour!  I cut out an extra flower for her hat and popped it up on a 3D pad, then added liquid pearls to the middle of the flowers in the basket.

I've used my fave twine and flowers combo to embellish; I'm still loving the 3D flowers right now!

One more shot from the side so you can see the stepper design I used;

Card recipe;
DP: Park Bench - Echo Park
Dies: leaf and swirl - Magnolia Doohickey, butterfly set - Impression Obsession
Edge punch: Scallop dot - Martha Stewart
Flowers: all from Wild Orchid Crafts

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/50/000/51/21 & R30
Hair: E41/Y21/E42/E43
Dress / hair bows: BG10/11/13
Bag / ground: W0/2/3/4
flowers / hat / bow on bag: Y15/19/YR14
Leaves: G46
Bird: E42/43

I am back from my holiday now and feeling very refreshed but that will probably only last until I get into work on Monday morning and see my inbox!

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Sew shabby

Hello lovely people,

Well, we haven't seen much sunshine so far for our cottage holiday in Dorset but have still enjoyed some lovely walks and a visit to Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, which were beautiful.

Now it is of course time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this time is...

VINTAGE / SHABBY CHIC

I have been enjoying making cards with a slightly shabby chic feel lately and the one I am sharing today was actually requested by my hairdresser for her Mum's special birthday.
It is very similar to a layout I did recently and it was so good I just had to use it again, but this time with a sewing machine image from Pink Petticoat.  It's a sweet and simple design but perfect for dressing up with lots of pretty embellishments.

And how timely that one of the magazines I subscribe to had a free gift of sewing themed charms so I added one on here!
I added extra prettiness to the digi image with liquid pearl dots on the flower centres and Frantage round the edge.

I've popped a little tag behind the image with the special greeting on it; it's a cute way to add an interactive touch I think.

Card recipe;
Image: Material Girl (daisies) - Pink Petticoat
DP: Vintage summer basics - Maja Design
Corner swirl stamps: set 68 - Corners - LOTV
Frantage: Shabby white by Stampendous - from Live & Love Crafts
Lace: Hermione - The Ribbon Girl
Seam binding / all flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Pearl head pins: The Ribbon Girl

Copic colours;
Sewing machine body: W00/0/1
Flowers: RV91/93/95 & BG93 for leaves

If you haven't already done so then do pop over to In The Pink and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Pink Ladies.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx

2.  Live and Love Crafts (inspirational collage)
3.  Inky Chicks (use a metal embellishment)
4.  A Creative Romance (girly cards)
5.  Simon Says Stamp (anything goes)

Monochrome rocks!

Hello lovely people,

I'm currently on holiday with Dr Hubby and all his family at a cottage in Devon; the weather is a bit variable but we're still having lots of fun :-)

So, while I enjoy another cream tea (probably - we've had 2 already!) I will let you know about the new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday where our theme this time is...

MONOCHROME

If you're not sure what this means, we want to see shades of just ONE colour on your creation, apart from skin/hair tones if you wish.

We are sponsored by the fabulous Kenny K where you can find a great range of funky images for girls and boys!

I went for a classic greyscale; I really wanted to add a stripe of colour to her hair but resisted to make sure I kept to the monochrome theme... maybe next time!

Can you believe that I have never coloured one of these images before?  I was really excited to get a free image to use for the challenge and this was such fun to colour.

Card recipe;
Image: Vikki Lee Vicious - Kenny K
DP: Enchanted - Bo Bunny & Flea Market - Crate Paper

Not much of a challenge?!

Hello lovely people,

Here is my final card for the day and if you are after my card for In The Pink or A Little Bit Crafty then you need to scroll down a bit!

It's new challenge time at All Dressed Up and this time our theme is...

STITCHING

So, you can see why I said it wasn't much of a challenge for me as all my cards have stitching on them!  I tried out another way to use my large shaped dies and it turned out pretty well.  Oh look, there's that swirl die again!

I have used a new image called Twinkle Toes and given how much I loved the first All Dressed Up image I ever saw which was Abi Ballerina, it's no surprise this was a big hit with me!

Card recipe;
Image: Twinkle Toes - freebie to All Dressed Up Facebook group members
DP: Sofiero - Maja Design
Dies: leaf and swirl - Magnolia, Precious stars & cosmic star set - Memory Box
Lace: Danielle - The Ribbon Girl

Shabby Tilda

Hello lovely people,

I am back with my second card of the day and it's a mid-way reminder for the current challenge at A Little Bit Crafty.  If you are looking for my card for In The Pink then just scroll down :-)

So, just to remind you, this month's theme is...

FLOWER POWER

This Tilda stamp recently 'appeared' in my craft room so I thought I'd show her a little ink!  I am quite liking the shabby chic look of late so I have distressed and inked the edges of the DP.
Strangely considering the challenge theme I didn't add any extra flowers as I liked the clean layered look.

I tried to keep the colouring soft to match the DP and added teeny dots of liquid pearls to the bunch of flowers.

Card recipe;
Image: For you Tilda - Magnolia
DP: Vintage Spring basics - Maja Design
Seam binding / twine: from The Ribbon Girl
Dies: Leaf and swirl, Tilda lace - Magnolia
Sentiment: Happy circular sentiments - LOTV

Copic colours;

Woohoo, it's new release time at All Dressed Up and once again we have an amazing selection of images for you.  Just take a look at these cute wedding themed images...

Just Married

Mirror Mirror

My Little Flower Girl

To Have and to Hold

I know these are all going to be very popular with wedding season coming up but I think the little flower girl also works well for a more generic card, as you can see...

I have had a hard time finding the right Copics for colouring cream but this combo worked quite well and I love the deep red against it.  This feels like a really happy card to me :-)

Card recipe;
Image; My Little Flower Girl - All Dressed Up

Polaroid fairy

Hello lovely people,

Sorry for the delay while I was poorly and thank you for your get well wishes.  I'm not feeling better yet but have finally got to the bottom of what was wrong with me and started antibiotics so am hoping to feel better soon.

Since this post was almost ready to go I thought I'd quickly finish it off and will be back with the other 2 belated DT posts tomorrow.

First up, it's time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this month is...

FLUTTERING ON BY

So, we would like to see some butterflies on your creation.  They don't have to be the focal point as you can see on my card...

Here's a closer look at the cute fairy and yes, that cloudy background is a first for me.  I did it with chalk following a super tutorial from Netty which you can find here.
I cut the inner shape of the polaroid frame using my Cricut and then trimmed the outer shape with my guillotine.

Card recipe;
Image: Wryn - fairy friends - Tiddly Inks

Mother's Day James

Hello lovely people,

I don't know about you but the days off at Easter and then my usual day off yesterday has left me very confused about what day of the week it is right now.
So, in case anyone else isn't sure, it is THURSDAY so that means it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Little Fairies and our theme is...

FURRY FRIENDS

We are sponsored by...

My favourite furry friend has to be the adorable James from LOTV and this is the card I made for my Mum for Mother's Day.  It's a fairly simple design, made before my new stash of flowers arrived, but I  wouldn't have added flowers anyway as it really doesn't need anything else IMHO.

I kept the shading quite light on James and paper pieced the heart adding a different little scrap for the patch.  I wasn't sure how well it would work given the placement of his paws on the heart but a little care with the cutting out and it's all fine!

Card recipe;
Image: James - big heart - LOTV
DP: Vintage autumn basics - Maja Designs
Swirl: Leaf and swirl die - Magnolia Doohickey
Twine: ivory button twine - The Ribbon Girl
Tags: Sentiment tags (set 24 & set 69) - LOTV

Copic colours;
James: E41/42/43/44
Rose: R39/59/89 & YG97/99
Ground: T 0/1/2/3/4

If you pop over to Crafty Little Fairies you can check out the fabulous creations from my teamies.  Don't forget that from next week our challenge goes monthly!

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Happy 10th Birthday LOTV!

Hello lovely people,

I took the opportunity of the extra crafting time over the Easter break to make a card to celebrate LOTV's 10th birthday and for a couple of challenges.  I decided on a shabby chic look so the edges of the DP have been distressed, inked and stitched.  I also stamped a little scroll detail in 2 corners.

I experimented with a few new things on this card, one of which was adding a little pull-out tag.  Its a great way to add an extra little message and makes the card more interactive :-)

I also added lots of pretty flowers and another first for me... some pins to add to the shabby chic look.

This is one of the older LOTV stamps in my collection but I like to go back and make sure the older ones get loved too!
Of course, the shabby chic feel wouldn't be complete without a little scattering of Frantage so that's in there too!

Card recipe;
DP: Vintage summer/autumn basics - Maja Designs
Flowers: all from Wild Orchid Crafts
Seam binding / twine: The Ribbon Girl
Large tag: cut by hand and letters are a Quick Kutz die alphabet

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/50/000/51/21 & R30
Hair: E42/43/44
Cake: YR30/E81/E41
Top / candle: B41/91/93/95
Skirt / cake icing: RV91/93/95
Flame: Y21/23/YR23
Wings: RV0000/000/91/93
Ground: T0/1/2/3/4

I hope you are all having a lovely Easter weekend :-)  I have been up to my parents with Dr Hubby and my brother and his girlfriend were there too.  We had a lovely time including an Easter egg hunt - you are never too old for one of those!  Ooh, and I made some mocha cupcakes decorated with mini eggs...yum!

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Hugs,
Kat xx
